Usui First Degree:
What should I expect?
Reiki First Degree (Shoden) is where it all begins. At Earthbound, we run small groups to ensure you receive the best quality learning experience. First degree is run across one day, we send out a comprehensive, multimedia home study pack a month before the course. This includes a meditation CD to work through in your own time.
The home study pack consists of:

The history of Reiki and where it came from.

Information on the founder Mikao Usui and what he taught.
-
The Reiki ‘Precepts’ and use of empowerments.
-
How mindfulness is at the core of Reiki.
-
How to benefit from daily energy exercises and self-treatments.
-
How to use Reiki on others.
There is no prior experience required with our course, you just need an open mind. It’s a fun an informative day, full of practical and energy work, including refreshments and lunch, in the company of like-minded individuals.

You will receive Reiju empowerments, learn how to work with Reiki Energy, how to treat yourself and others, gain practical experience by treating your fellow students and come away with a certificate of completion, accredited by The International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine (IPHM)

We always recommend that you allow at least three months between the first degree to really build that personal connection with Reiki. This allows you to understand how it works by practising on yourself, family and friends. You will find that new sense of calm and serenity, which is when you’ll truly be ready to continue on your learning path.
However, please note that this degree is primarily for self-healing and does not cover you for working on the general public. If you want to start up your own business, you must complete the practitioners degree.
Usui Second Degree:
What should I expect?
Reiki Second Degree (Okuden) is the practitioners course, and as always the groups are small to ensure the best learning experience. You can come to us from another Lineage, that’s absolutely fine, as we can provide our first degree home study pack on booking for a small fee. The course is run across one day, and the equivalent of two days when combined with the home study manual.
The home study pack consists of:

Learning about Earth Ki and Heavenly Ki and the symbols that represent them.

How to use both energies in treatment context and practicing both.
-
Oneness and Distance Healing.
-
The use of intent to direct energy.
-
Various methods of directing energy, including “many hands” visualisation practice.

Working intuitively using Japanese approach “Reiji Ho”.
The prerequisite is to have completed First Degree with proof of a certificate.

You will take part in a practical day at Earthbound HQ, whereby you will give and receive wonderful Reiki treatments to your fellow students. This allows you to put the theory learned within the study pack to practice. With the practitioners degree you are now able to provide treatments for clients. However, you don’t have to. You can simply move to second degree to strengthen your Reiki and spiritual development.

You will leave with a certificate of completion, accredited by The International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine (IPHM.) With this second degree qualification, you are able to take out insurance, ready to begin working on paid clients.
Usui Masters Degree:
What should I expect?
With Masters Degree (Shinpiden) you are able to pass on your knowledge and experience to become a teacher yourself and attune your own students. However, much like the practitioners course, it can be used for personal growth rather than sharing with others.
It’s the equivalent of a 5 day course when combined with the multimedia home study pack. We suggest 3 days dedicated to your manual and then 2 days practice with us.

Use of the Reiki Master and other symbols.

What do I need to have completed to become a master?
The prerequisite is to have completed First and Second Degree with proof of a certificate. We recommend you have had a reasonable amount of time between courses, to really incorporate everything you have learned during your Reiki journey and gain experience in which you can confidently pass on to students.

The Reiki Masters course is the natural conclusion to your development, this said, as we all know you never stop learning. Your 5 day course will include everything you will need to become a competent Reiki Master. You will receive a certificate on completion, accredited by The International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine (IPHM).

We are passionate about Reiki, so we provide all our Reiki students ongoing support. We have a community group chat and offer the chance to join Reiki Shares, giving you an opportunity to practice and receive treatments.
